It is mainly used as solvent of oil and fat, extraction agent, electrolytic solvent of lithium battery, chlorine based solvent stabilizer, pharmaceutical intermediate and raw material of copolyformaldehyde. It can also be used as raw material of silk finishing agent and sealing glue
